Longkang Fishing in Singapore
My brother’s family is in town and today the we took the kids to do something that we have done ever so often when my brother and I were kids ourselves, longkang fishing.
The concept is pretty simple, in the old days, when the water was not so deep, we would head to the longkang to look at and catch some drain fishes. Often, they would be just boring grey coloured fishes (probably guppies) and sometimes we’d get some black fishes. It would be easiest to catch these fish when the drain was nearly dried up with just some puddles of water around leaving the fishes with nowhere to run 🙂
Anyway, these longkang drains are mostly covered up now for aesthetic and i am not sure what other reasons and so we have to resort to going to a place to simulate the “longkang fishing” experience. The fishes are also alot prettier with some white, red, orange and other colourful guppies around.
I truly recommend going longkang fishing with your kids at Punggol Farmway.
