6 nights in London with my 3 children
Our 6 nights in London went by very quickly. The first day, or rather, evening, was spent at the immigration and getting to our apartment. This took us longer than expected but we were eventually home. The AirBNB host advised us to get some food before getting into our apartment as we would be too tired to leave otherwise and this was really good advise. I strongly recommend eating first before getting to your hotel or stay in any country after a long flight. Especially when you are travelling with kids. I think I will write another post about this.
The place we were staying at was, what I think, a Muslim area with quite a few Halal eateries around it. We managed to get some pizza and brought it home.
Our first day in London was spent visiting the Bhora mosque in London as well as few friends who we have in London. This, I feel is very important as these are people who we have not met in a long time and more than the monuments that would remain there for a bit longer, I had to ensure that the people we knew had to be met. We ended up meeting 3 of our friends and it was also very kind of the London Faiz to provide us a jaman thaali for the day, even without prior booking.
The next day, we visited The next few days were spent visiting some famous landmarks like Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace and also Hyde Park. You can read more about these visits from my kids’ posts :
They are continuously writing about places we are visiting as well as the experiences we have together.
As we are on a very long vacation, we had to continue doing daily activities as well and this includes some studies for the kids. I am making them practice their English writing skills. The advise is to use better English each time with a few new words. It does not always happen but we must keep trying eh?
All in all, 6 nights in London is not at all enough time. The city is very vibrant, full of things happening around. The fact that we had a car was quite good, especially with a family and because we were not staying in Central London. This allowed us to visit some of the not so popular places easily. On our last day, we visited Wembley Stadium but unfortunately, the tour was sold out. This led us to do some shopping nearby at the outlet shops. We ended up getting some shoes and jackets for the winter that was coming shortly. After all, the next day would start our adventure to Italy.
