The Europe adventure begins
There was a silver lining after our horrible experience with RyanAir (read more about it at : http://www.topiwalla.com/2017/11/horrible-experience-ryanair/). We were forced to quickly look for another place near Milan and at the same time, quickly postpone our AirBNB at Turin, where I really wanted to go as there was a chocolate festival going on there.
All this, while rushing into a flight at Stansted.
Anyway, so we managed to get into a flight to Milan airport with Ryanair and again, the airport was super frigging far from the city. While getting onto the flight, we had to quickly find another place near to Milan or just get a car and drive to Turin on the same day. However, we were so tired and so not willing to backwards to Turin on the same day and so we found this place near-ish to Milan.

I contacted the owner, Luca, immediately and started to communicate with him on how we could potentially book his place for the same day. Unfortunately, as the flight was getting close, we could not confirm the stay. When we landed at Malpensa airport, near-ish Milan, we resumed our communication with Luca and confirmed our stay there.
Malpensa airport was something else, They charged us for trolleys and this is really really weird. We ended up paying some very weird dressed porter like dude a few euros to give us a trolley and we loaded all our bags onto 1 trolley. Yes, all 9 of them.
Next, we went down to get a car after cancelling our other car, and postponing the other home, in Turin too.
We ended up getting a car from Goldcar which gave us a ford focus station wagon at a pretty decent price.
By the time we got everything sorted out, we had spent 4 hours at the airport – Time spent to confirm the new stay, postpone the previous, cancel the other car we had rented, look for another car. Sigh. We still had another 2 hours at least of driving to reach Luca’s place.
After Arwa drove for 2.5 hours, though, we finally reached our quaint little place at Sala Mandelli. I must say, she was really tough to hang in there after such a day.
Luca graciously welcomed us as and started a fire as it was getting cold. Despite the place being a bit tough to get used to with all the cats and the imperfections around us. We were just so tired that everyone just sat down and enjoyed the warmth of the fireplace.
This was just day the real day 1 of our long trip in Europe 🙂 It was really a long, hard day.
