Resuming the blogging journey

About a year and a half ago, my wife, Arwa and I, started to encourage our kids to blog in an attempt to improve their overall English. We figured if they could write an article or two every month, they would be able to think creatively, do some research on some of the topics they are interested in and also practice their composition skills.

Our sons started their blogging adventure and they have started writing quite a bit at their blogs:

I must say that initially, they were more excited about it but were unable to actually write much. They just did not have the hang of writing. I mean come on, Mustansir had barely started learning about composition at school and Shabbir was only 5 then. Nevertheless, they continued writing. We as parents encouraged them by asking them to take more photos and to keep it as a journal of interesting things they were doing or things they learnt over the week.

Teaching them wordpress was a breeze. They picked it up almost immediately. The login was simple, we selected a template and then went on to install it in their blog. Coming from a digital marketing background, I added some SEO plugins and some other plugins that I thought would make sense for them in the long run.

Today, I am really proud of both of their achievements. They often write their posts unaided and now even sometimes blog out of their own interest to just, well, write.

Anyway, I think it’s about time I started writing again myself. It’s been a long time since I’ve done it. In the past I was never consistent myself. But times are changing, things are now happening in my life which I think I should document. I have a new job at a new exciting company, Rhad, with some fantastic partners and colleagues. I have a fast growing family and things are so dynamic there and my trip, the 6 month Europe trip that freaks me out every day as we get closer to it.

Well. I guess it’s worth a shot. Let’s see how long this continues 🙂
